With time, the designer knew to make involve her style, combining today flowers and precious material with basic and cheap things as like grass for example!

Thus, the decoration of her flower shop, located beside the street of street of Rivoli in Paris, is constituted of raw material such as the brushed concrete ground, the breeze-blocks (it is both graphic and male, it is ideal for construction and the installations of the displays) or metal for an ambiance “Street Art”, thus contrasting with the delicacy and the refinement of flowers.

In the same spirit, some of its compositions combine graphic and precious flowers like orchids Vanda with fruits of vegetables such as black-carrot or potatoes. Lastly, each one composition carries its signature, namely a vegetal fastener.

Catherine Muller has created in 18 years of career of florist, her own universe, floral and artistic.
The career of the florist starts when she was 16 years old in 1992.

During 8 years, until 2000, Catherine Muller get the knack of in the Parisian florists, then, is sent for a first mission to form abroad with the French style of the Korean florists. It is a crucial stage in the course of Catherine Muller: she is aware that her main vocation is the training of high level florist. Following this mission, in 2003, Catherine Muller opens her first Flower School in Seoul.

Of return to Paris, Catherine Muller must set out again of zero. After a short passage as art floral professor in a school, Catherine Muller becomes artistic director of the Ecole des Fleurs at the Crillon Hotel in Paris. In 2006, Catherine Muller again decides to open her own school in Paris, Catherine Muller Flower School in the 16th district of Paris.

Since, the florist traveled all over many countries to carry out decoration or to give course of floral art: Saudi Arabia, Korea, the United State, Japan, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Tunisia…

At the end of 2009, Catherine Muller Flower School settles at the street of Pyramides, beside the Garden of Tuilleries, between the streets of Rivoli and Saint Honoré in the first district of Paris. Catherine Muller Flower School opens its first flower shop, BOURGEON, at the same place.

BOURGEON, a new flower shop in Paris

The flowershop BOURGEON, recently open in the 1st district of Paris beside the street of Rivoli, is the flower shop of the Catherine Muller’s Flower School in Paris. The walls sheltering this new shop formerly constituted the old stables of the royal palace of Paris, so called Palais Royal.

Long works were necessary to relook this old shop according to the ideas of the designer Catherine Muller to install her Flower School in Paris. We completely reconsidered the configuration of underground in order to create space as well as possible and emphasizing the parts arched out of old stone of this cellar to preserve the authentic seal of the place.

To find a single color for the walls was not easy either and it will have been necessary for us less than 6 months of research before finding the good color: a mixture of grey of Payne and ashed grey, colors which bring sobriety, contrast and light with the various colors of the flowers of the flower shop BOURGEON.

For her part, Catherine Muller wished an environment “street art” and Town to create a contrast with the refinement of her natural work and her flowers in the capital of France. Thus, rough material like breeze blocks or schemes of work out of metal one used to perfect the decoration of the flower shop BOURGEON something simple, something rough, an urban landscape.

Thanks to our shop, students in formation of reconversion of florist can, besides their courses of floral design with Catherine Muller, to observe and take part in all the activities which compose the good performance of the flower shop BOURGEON et thus, to constitute a true experiment as a florist.

Wedding floral decoration at the famous parisian restaurant: Le Pré Catelan

A few days ago, Catherine Muller and her team invested the very famous gourmet restaurant: Le Pré Catelan, located all beside Paris, in order to prepare the decoration of a wedding there. Requiring much work, the bases of the decoration were prepared the day before at the flowershop BOURGEON (BOURGEON is the flowershop of the Catherine Muller Flower School in Paris). Flower arrangements being very precise, the most open flowers were used for the bases, while knowing pertinently that they would be replaced on the following day by the most beautiful flowers of Paris.
Catherine Muller teached especially some of her students, in order to prepare them take part in this true decoration.

The request of the bride was the following one: decoration must be sophisticated while remaining natural, restrained, modern and especially, single.
Thus, the Catherine Muller’s team with some of the excellent students of the Catherine Muller Flower School created a set of table center in shade of chlorophyllian green and white (arum (for the modernity), peonies, orchids, hydrangeas…) It was very interesting to see how Catherine Muller selects her flowers for which are most beautiful flowers of Paris, it them selected almost one by one.

As for buffets, the idea was the same one: it was not necessary that not returned either too much « wild » or too sophisticated but natural and single. In her flower school in Paris, Catherine Muller showed us how to cover the vases with sheets of Aralia. And like Catherine Muller teaches in her courses, it is important to observe the sheet on both sides because sometimes, the back of the sheet is the most interesting. In that case precisely, the sheets were placed at back in the order to take out again the veins for a best result.

In the romantic and imposing spirit of the wedding, two Medicis vases were decorated by Catherine Muller and one of her students who is currently in reconversion of florist.

While part of the team was on the reception part, two other people of flower school Catherine Muller worked on the splendid Bentley GT of the grooms in order to carry out something of refined and discreet.

Balustrades, being inside room of reception, have been adorned of flowers, most beautiful the ones as the others. Catherine Muller occupied with one of her pupil, who is at the end of her formation of florist.

Catherine Muller supervised the decoration of the external sunshade, thus creating a summery environment or even exotic.

Lastly, the floral designer Catherine Muller decorated the groom’s armchair herself, respectively giving them a male character (more graphic, more purified), and a female character (more refined, more in roundness and romanticism).

Finally, it was just great for all of the team members and very developing for the students, to see the results of their work as well as the recognition of the organizers of the marriage and of Catherine Muller.

Catherine Muller Flower School : a new Shop and Flower School in Paris ! !

Dear all,
we are so glad to inform you that we have just opened a few weeks ago a new shop and Flower School in Paris !

This is our new address :

Subway : Tuileries (line 1) or Pyramides (line 7 and 14)

We are placed just between Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint Honoré !! It has been so wonderful when we opened : many people who work in the neighborhood have welcomed us so kindly. This quarter of Paris is just lovely : it is a small village, really !

During months and months, we have totally re-built this old shop (previously it was used by a gentle hair cutter). We have replaced everything on the first floor to make it specially designed for the new Catherine Muller Flower school and shop, and we have replaced the front of the shop too. Underground, we have kept the old huge ancient cave with old stones. The building was used centuries ago as the royal stables ! (the new flower school is near Palais Royal)

We want to say thank you to all of our students, from the beginning of Catherine Muller story, thank you for you support during our first step in 16th quarter ! We will be glad to welcome you in this new place !

Catherine Muller Flower School : Decoration in Opera Garnier in Paris

Last April, it was so great to have the privilege of going inside the Opera de Paris to create a big decoration with the Catherine Muller team.
We were a team of 7 florists for this big decoration : 3 from Catherine Muller Company, and 4 students prepared for the event.

During the first days of the one week course, Catherine Muller teached us many techniques for middle and big size decoration. The title of the course was "the intensive : special event cocktail" (see the calendar for the next courses and the corresponding program).

On Wednesday we started to prepare the different structures of the decoration. On Thursday we started to work on the flowers. Every Rose Avalanche was treated specially with 2 projection of colors, to make a special effect with the light, something metallic with a reflect of gold.

Friday was the big day : we arrived in the morning at the Opera : everything must be finished at 13:00 p.m. We install the flowers on the most beautiful stair ever seen in the world, and on the balconies.

The result is fantastic, the effect is totally different when all the flowers are together, seen from far away compared to what you feel when you prepare the decoration : it is very surprising to see this completely finished !

Flower School Catherine Muller - A day in Paris

Sometimes we wonder how students at Catherine Muller's flower school spend a day in Paris.

(This is exactly why I'm posting this! )

Today, I am going to introduce a student who was here last month at Catherine Muller's flower school.

This is Ms. Shiho Koda, the kindest and the sweetest Japanese student that I ever encountered :) She came to paris to take flower lessons with Catherine Muller and she was with us for two weeks.

For those who want to know about the daily schedule of Catherine Muller's flower school, I will briefly introduce what happens during the week of each seminars.

During a week of seminar, we usually start at 10 am and finish at 6 pm.

(for four days per week)

It is very intensive, challenging yet very, very interesting.

After one or two weeks (or even longer) of seminars, students receive a diploma.

As Ms. Koda took two weeks of seminars, we had a little time for ' paris gourmet tour':)! We decided to visit Angelina, situated near the tuileries, where we can find the most divine 'mont-blanc' and Angelina's special hot chocolate :D

We had a perfect afternoon!

It is already two weeks since she has returned to Japan. We miss her a lot and we hope to see her again!

Flower School Catherine Muller : Decoration for Baccarat in Hotel Four Season's Georges V, in Paris

A few weeks ago , we had the pleasure to be in charge of the decoration of a table for Baccarat, at the occasion of a salon inside Hotel Four Season's Georges V in Paris. It was so nice to decorate such a beautiful place ! The tableware on the table was so refined ! Everybody from the flower school Catherine Muller was really excited ! !

We had to build a decoration adapted to the style of Baccarat's tableware and glassware on the table. Catherine Muller has selected very precious flowers in the Paris flower market of Rungis : beautiful paphyopedilum, roses Avalanche, viburnum and ferns.

The floral designer Catherine Muller explained this to all students : One of the difficulties of this floral creation is to create a garden style atmosphere, something very natural, on a very precious, bright and luxurious table. Moreover, the floral arrangement has to be remarkable, but not too much invasive on the table : the flowers are just here to finalize the beauty of the table and not to take the leading role.

Deeper on this special salon called "Les coulisses du mariage" where you can find some of the most prestigious providers for the weddings in France, Catherine Muller had her own stand. The floral designer Catherine Muller decorated her stand with a totally different style, something more graphical.

She explained that she likes to keep a certain harmony of the whole salon's floral decoration, that's why the two creations are linked : same essential colors, and a few reminders in the selection of some of the flowers. The stand's arrangement was a kind of reflection of the first one, with a fresh work on transparency inside the water and in the air.

Flower School Catherine Muller - A true reference of design: Maison et Object

This week has been an amazing week of inspiration. As part of the intensive display class held in Catherine Muller’s Flower School in Paris, students who took part of the one week course of intensive “display class” went to Maison et Object.

Maison et Object is an exclusive professional design fair where design, home-fashion, objects and tablewares can be found. This year, it was held in Paris-Nord Villepinte where it can be easily accessible from the city as well as the CDG airport.

Like any other professionals from the world, Catherine Muller’s floral art students who took the Intensive seminar course gathered to experience the creativity of the Maison et object. The floral design students took a free SIAL shuttle bus which connects people from Porte Maillot to Paris-Nord Villepinte. Upon arrival, Catherine Muller students were dumfounded by the myriads of exhibition halls that were connected to each other. Each and every hall was creating a design empire where they presented new visions of design for the prospective season. Students were all very excited by new designs and concepts, fueled by inspiring display design class taught by the floral designer Catherine Muller herself.

Maison et object was indeed the most desirable design exposition which offered infinite possibilities of design and creativity. It was definitely more than just a trade show. Students from Catherine Muller Flower School were greatly satisfied by the diversities of the show and many left with new and fresh inspirations!

Flower School Catherine Muller : Wedding in a Castle in France !

Last September, we have moved into the French country to prepare the decoration for a special wedding. We prepared many decorations : the castle, the church and the dining room. We have had the pleasure to welcome some of the Catherine Muller Flower School's students on this workshop !

Inside the church, we worked on the white color, recreating an atmosphere of purity and wildness together. One of the difficulties in this kind of works is to create a special arrangement in such a enormous volume, without being too much invasive. You have to be humble and discreet in a certain way, to respect the atmosphere of the wedding celebration, without being insignificant.

We recreated the idea of wildness with the impact of the garden style arrangement of Catherine Muller. In front of the altar, a green wild forest of arums, hydrangeas, roses and orchids has naturally grown up on the floor.

The candelabras we have prepared for the dining were all different and unforgettable : we have prepared more than 20 different themes, all about fruits and vegetables. The result was so beautiful and amazing ! Congratulations to Ayleen, Seung-Ju and Kimmy ! These days are such a great souvenir for us !

Flower School Catherine Muller - Event in Palace-Elysee, Paris : Catherine Muller flower lesson

We had the pleasure to welcome you for this event at Palace Elysées.

One of the goals of this party organized with the IFBC, international flower bulb center, was to remind tot the great public that the summer flower bulb are also beautiful flowers to be used in your arrangements, like Catherine Muller did explain to everybody during this floral art lesson.

After the demonstration of Catherine Muller for the realization of this bouquet especially build around summer flower bulbs, all of the students have had the possibility to create their own floral arrangement, corresponding to their personal style. The french floral designer Catherine Muller herself and her assistants helped every single student to realize the bouquet.

There are some photo souvenirs of this great evening, followed by a cocktail organized by the IFBC. Many thanks !
